How to print colored, bold, italic, ... text:

Assign your OnGetCellColor event handler also to grid.OnGetCellPrintColor()

How to print images, a company logo, ...:

Set grid.PrintSettings.PrintGraphics = true

How to print a particular row in bold:

You can do this via the event OnGetCellPrintColor, for example:

TAdvSmoothListBox
How to select multiple items

As this is not always suitable for every uses we have implemented a method which is able to select multiple items:

 AdvSmoothListBox1.Items.Select([3, 4, 5, 6]);

Just enter the indexes of the items to select, this will select all items in the array. You could write a function which returns an array of integers based on the level index and the starting index.

When using components that use GDI+, make sure that your project's main CPP file includes the line:

#pragma link "gdiplus.lib"

TAdvPanel
When using the TAdvPanelGroup scrollbar, child panels are drawn over the TAdvPanelGroup caption

This is a known limitation. A container control can't partially hide a child control. As an alternative, drop the TAdvPanelGroup without caption on a TAdvPanel that has a caption to have the same result.

How to filter on checkbox state

If you wish to filter rows that have the checkbox selected, use a datacheckbox, i.e. a checkbox representing its state depending on the value of the cell being grid.CheckTrue / grid.CheckFalse. You can perform the filter on these grid.CheckTrue / grid.CheckFalse values.

When inserting new records asynchronously into IWDBAdvWebGrid, please make sure the ShowRowsAlways property is set to true.

To reset the chart after manual scaling / scrolling, set the property mode on series level to cmInit encapsulated with a beginupdate and an endupdate:

How to change the name of the week days.

You can override the ShortDayNames array in the SysUtils unit. For example to change the name of the week days from 'Sun Mon Tue Wed Thu Fri Sat' to 'S M T W T F S' :

Updating the IWAdvWebGrid cell values after an async event

The TIWAdvWebGrid / TIWDBAdvWebGrid control will not automatically update its cell values after an asynchronous event. You can call AsyncUpdateAllCells to refresh the cell values after an asynchronous event.

TMS FlexCel Studio for .NET
Type initialization Exceptions when running under Mono

To run FlexCel under mono, you need:

1) A registered FlexCel.dll. Trial might or might not work due to higher levels of code obfuscation.
2) A recent (2.10 or newer) Mono installation.
3) Gdiplus. This might or might not be installed with the default mono installation.

If you get the following Exception:
Runtime Exception: An exception was thrown by the type initializer for FlexCel.Core.TThemeColorScheme
Then you most likely don't have GDIPlus installed

TMS FlexCel Studio for .NET
Isolated Storage exception when writing xlsx files

Update to FlexCel 5.7 or newer. FlexCel used to use the classes in System.IO.Packaging to create xlsx files. When the generated xlsx file got too big (about 7mb), it would create a temporary file in the isolated storage. In version 5.7 we have rewritten the System.IO.Package classes in native C#, that doesn't use isolated storage at all, so you shouldn't get this error anymore.

As a side advantage, the newer classes are faster since they write directly to the actual file, instead of writing a temp version to the isolated storage and then copying from the isolated storage to the real file.

Fast loading and saving of many items

To add many items to the TColumnListBox, the use of BeginUpdate / EndUpdate will significantly accelerate this.
Example for fast save & load of 5000 items:
