Caret not visible in the edit control

It is a known shortcoming of the Windows operating system EDIT class (that standard VCL TEdit and also TMS TAdvEdit uses) that the caret is not displaying when the height of the control is too small in relation to the choosen font. As this is a Windoiws limitation, it can only be solved by either increasing the control height or decreasing the font size.

You can use the event OnDrawItemProp. This event is triggered for every item that is painted in the TAdvOutlookList. You can modify the background color via changing ABrush.Color and the font color via AFont.Color.

Styling a FireMonkey control in a mobile application

The ability to style is missing in a mobile application and thus styling options for a TMS Pack for FireMonkey component will also be unvailable when trying to style directly inside a mobile application. Fortunately there is a workaround for this.

To style a FireMonkey component, drop the component on the form in a new FireMonkey HD application and right-click the component. A context menu will be available with an "edit custom style" and "edit default style" option. Choose the correct option and then copy the StyleBook and component to the form in a new FireMonkey Mobile application. Select the copied StyleBook in the StyleBook property of the form.

If you do not wish to change this style from a StyleBook or you wish to dynamically style the component. You can always implement the OnApplyStyleLookup method which will contain the correct references to the various elements/parts of the component found and named in the StyleBook.

Inserting grid data into an existing sheet in an existing XLS file with TAdvGridExcelIO

The last parameter of the XLSExport() call determines what do with the grid data during export to an existing XLS file in an existing sheet. Default, the value is InsertInSheet_InsertClear, meaning it will clear the sheet first before exporting the grid data. If the value is set to: InsertInSheet_InsertRows, it will insert the number of rows in the existing sheet needed for the grid data.
