Slow downloading of TMS product updates

Hi TMS,

In recent weeks, we have experienced very slow downloading of TMS product update. The speed was reasonable before, but these days we get around 40 to 60 KB/s. Downloading the 600 MB Web Core, for example, takes hours. Both me (Canada) and my colleague (South Africa) are experiencing this.

MTR to your server in Germany shows the connection fine. The problem is possibly the server itself.

I am posting this just in case there is a screw loose and you did not know :)

Keep up the good work!

We just retested this here and this download of 660MB was about 2min, so it looks like there must be somewhere a routing issue.

Never experienced that. Download of Web Core from Norway, less than a minute.

Thank you both for your replies. Downloads is still sluggish from here (Canada) today at around 150 KB/s. Probably a routing issue as Bruno suggested. It used to be fast previously, so hopefully fast again one of these days.

I am happy to report that download speed from here (Canada) was back to normal today :)

Relief.
May the new year 2020 only bring good things!

Hi Bruno,

  last ... famous ... words ..
Anyway, now i have the same problem.
In my house the download speed is dropped down .... (my speed is 20mbps)
To download tms web core (last version)  the time needed was about 5-6 minutes.
At office (same speed), the download speed is faster .... more faster ...
Any idea? (what i can check??)

Thank's for reply
Regards
Daniele

Update

Seems the speed problem is only with web core library.
With any other library (for example fnc, ui ecc...) the speed is ok.
Regards
Daniele

All files come from the same server.
The TMS WEB Core distribution is a large file though.

Thank's Bruno

Daniele

All file downloads seem to be failing at the moment, both via TMS Subscription Manager and direct from the website.  (Other Internet connectivity looks ok from here at present.)

Testing from here, we can download without issue? No other problem reports received.

Thanks Bruno.  In fact it is ok now.

Is your server on 178.208.37.224 (hosted at combell.com) ?

If so, then there would appear to have been some sort of temporary routeing problem. For a while I found that I could not ping or traceroute to that address, although everything else seemed to be working correctly.

Anyway, looks like we are back to normal.  Sorry to have caused alarm :)

Yes 178.208.37.224 is at combell but there is a separate download server 144.76.237.47 from where all downloads come.

Thank you again Bruno.  All is working now.  It looks like the fog in the English Channel has cleared - or at least the fog in the Internet pipes beneath the Channel :)
